Good afternoon all! 

I am sending you all an email to let you know the meet on 2/17 and GA Tech meet on 2/25 are open for you to opt your swimmer into the meets. Please register them NOW. Please remember your child CANNOT compete in the GA Tech Championship meet unless they have swam in 2 meets this season, high school meets do not count. If you believe there are any errors or you have any questions, please send me an email and we can figure it out. 

If you are competing in the meet this weekend at the Canton YMCA, please have your children at the meet by 3:00 PM. Please be sure to bring your swimmer's goggles, cap and swimsuit. You may want to bring extra towels and/or fold up chairs to sit on. The gym gets chilly so please make sure your children have adequate clothing to keep them warm. There will be stadium seating outside the pool area and small area for foldable chairs. Concessions will be offered. 

I am including the letter sent to all parents about the meet at GA Tech below. Again, please make sure you sign up to volunteer. DO NOT DROP YOUR CHILD OFF AT ANY MEET and leave, the rule about children 13 & under applies at ALL YMCAs and YMCA events. We need everyone to participate and be there for your child. If you have any questions or issues please let us know. 

2024 YMCA of Metro Atlanta Championships

The Date of Competition is Sunday 2/25/2024.

Dear Metro Atlanta YMCA swim team parents,

We are excited to host the 2024 YMCA of Metro Atlanta Championship Swim Meet at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center. The address of this facility is 750 Ferst Drive, Atlanta GA, 30318.

Session One will include swimmers 10 and under. The facility will open at 7:45 am for swimmers and spectators. Warms-up will begin at 8:00 am, and your team’s time will be dependent upon the warm-up group you are assigned to. Your coach will provide further information on this start time as we near the meet date. Session Two will include all swimmers ages 11-18 years old, and warm-ups will begin at 12:00 with the meet beginning at 1:30pm. We are excited for the opportunities this facility will bring to our meet, but there are a couple changes to note.

In order to make our meet efficient and safe:

There will be no parents, other than approved volunteers, allowed on the pool deck. If you would like to be on the deck with your swimmer- each team will have designated parent volunteers that we will be allowed to assist, but you must sign up on the volunteer sign up! There will be no access for parents to come on deck, and only 18 and under swimmers are allowed in the wet locker rooms that connect to the pool deck downstairs.

Space on the pool deck is limited, so please limit your swimmer to one small bag with only the essentials they will need throughout the meet. (i.e. – towel, water bottle, goggles.)

We appreciate your commitment to our swim team and can’t wait for a great meet!

This meet is split into TWO Sessions: 10 & Under will swim in the morning, and 11 & Older will swim in the afternoon.

Here is a link for the Championship T-Shirt design. These shirts MUST be pre-ordered prior to Friday 2/9/2024. Please make sure to not choose to ship to your home. We will pay for the bulk shipping so that we can distribute the day of the event!
