I hope this email finds you all well! I have been on a long awaited vacation and will be back tomorrow. I appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you all on the pool deck!

I am sure you have noticed we have 2 new coaches on the pool deck regularly. Bryce Barnard and Michael O'Connor both have great swim team experience in working with young age group swimmers through high school swimmers. I feel very lucky to have both of them as part of our program. We will have a Parent Meeting next week, 5:30 & 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 24 in the Spark room on the 2nd floor of the YMCA (same room we always have our meetings). We will introduce our coaches and go over the swim meet schedule for this season. Swim meet schedule is posted on this website for everyone to see. We will go over our expectations of coaching staff, swimmers, and parents. 

I need parent volunteers for group parents & Swim Officials. I would like a Group Parent for each group to help us with communication and planning. This will require about 1-2 hours of your time each month, maybe a little extra when we have events or home swim meets. We have a last minute add of Swim Officials class. This is a virtual class and it takes place on Tuesday, Sept 24 & Thursday, September 26 - 6:30-8:30 PM. You have to attend both classes. There is a $30 fee for the class, but if you are interested and able to sign up I will give you a credit of $30 on your next payment for swim team. We are required to have a swim official at each location. I would like to have 3, these are the judges of strokes and turns during our meets, for ALL swimmers. THis assists everyone in coaching and making sure each meet is fair. There is a science and certain things we look for in each age group, stroke, starts, turns, etc. Please follow the link below to register, spots are limited:

Again, I know the last two weeks have been hectic. The coaching staff and I meet each week to go over all our successes and issues we are having with individuals, groups, disciplinary issues, lane etiquette, etc. We are going through some growing pains, but in a very good, productive way. There are some small adjustments that will need to be made soon and we will go over some of those next week. There are a couple of groups, we are not taking any new swimmers at this moment. We have added a small "Pre-Team' group for our younger swimmers that need a little additional help, and maybe not quite ready to compete. 

You are all very important to us, and our swimmers come first! Please make sure you mark your calendars for our Parent meeting next week. Also, let me know if you are interested in becoming a Swim Official or Group Parent before Thursday. I will see you on the pool deck soon!
