Saturday's Swim Meet Information

Good Morning all,

I hope this email finds everyone well. PLEASE READ THIS ENTRIE EMAIL. I am sending you details about the meet you registered your child on Saturday. If you have signed up and you are NOT planning on attending, we need to know TODAY. Please keep in mind we have relays SET based on who registered to attend this meet. I need this information in order to make changes if necessary.

Details you will need for tomorrow:

  • You will need to plan on arriving at the Cowart YMCA (address below), NO LATER THAN 3:00 PM. Please check your GPS tonight to see how long it takes to get to the Cowart YMCA, it is 25-30 miles away and traffic can be an issue.
  • Please bring the following for EACH swimmer: black swimsuit, orange swim cap, 2 towels, 2 pairs of goggles, healthy snacks, water, sweatshirt & sweatpants (to keep warm between races), SHARPIE, heat sheet (attached in this message).
  • Please make sure your child is marked BEFORE warmups begin. The coaches WILL NOT mark up your child. I have attached detailed instructions and the athlete sheet in order for you to know your child's specific events and numbers. Here are the specific directions to mark your child:

How to Mark Up Your Swimmer

    Swim Meet Prep

    What is arm marking?

You must mark your swimmer to reflect which event, heat and lane they are racing. This is used to help remind the swimmer of their events and age group tent or ready bench volunteers. Use the Athlete sheet o find and highlight your child's events. Mark the arm as illustrated below in the picture in the order of Event/Heat/Lane.
Write on clean dry skin. It is best to do this BEFORE warm ups to minimize wet skin. Please also write your child's full name on their upper back.
Heat Sheets are also attached for you to know events order. There will be combining of events, so PAY ATTENTION to all announcements.

    Example of Arm Marking
Write Clearly and Legibly on your child's LEFT arm as illustrated in the picture.
Stroke: If you'd like to note the stroke do so after the lane designation.
    - FR = Freestyle
    - BA = Back Stroke
    - BR = Breast Stroke
    - FLY = Butterfly
    - IM = Individual Medley
For relay marking, just give event # and lane # and coaches will give them their order.
  • We NEED VOLUNTEERS! The job sign up is on the event page in Swimtopia, so please sign up. The Cowart Y is a new and very small team, so they do not have enough parents. This will be a relatively quick meet, so please make sure you sign up to help! The meet WILL NOT start until all places are filled.
Place: Cowart YMCA
Date: Saturday, October 26, 2024
Time: 3:00 PM
Address: 3692 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30319
PLEASE BE ON TIME, warm ups are very important and there will NOT be an opportunity if you are late. Please email today with any additional questions. We are excited about our first meet!

Warmest Regards,
