Important Swim Team Information and Guidelines

Dear Swim Team Parents,

I hope you're all enjoying this swim season! To ensure our program continues smoothly and effectively for everyone involved, I'd like to share a few important points regarding communication, promptness, and practice etiquette.

Communication:

  • I strive to keep email communication concise and informative. Please make it a priority to carefully read all messages completely. Most questions you might have are likely already addressed in the emails.
  • Due to the size of our team, individual phone calls are not feasible. However, I commit to responding to your emails within 24–48 hours, unless the answer is already clearly provided in previous communications.
  • Please activate your Swimtopia account to ensure you receive ALL information in an accurate and up-to-date manner. We are here to assist you, but we also aim to provide resources to help when we may not be immediately available. Additionally, seeking advice from other 'veteran' parents can often be helpful.

Promptness and Attendance:

  • Timely attendance at practices and swim meets is crucial. Arriving promptly ensures your child receives the full benefit of practice and supports overall team performance and organization.
  • Swim meets are an integral part of our program. Participating allows your child to experience competition in a relaxed, low-pressure environment, fostering teamwork, personal growth, and enjoyment.

During Practice:

  • Please refrain from approaching the coaches during practice sessions. Their full attention is dedicated to instructing all swimmers, ensuring each child achieves their individual and team goals.
  • If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's progress, I am available in my office 2–3 evenings per week. I would be happy to schedule time to discuss your child's development and our teaching methods.

Upcoming Swim Meets:

  • We have a swim meet on Friday, June 13 at the Cowart YMCA. It is open for registration. Please go into your Swimtopia account and let us know by Thursday, June 12 at 12:00 PM if your child will be participating.
  • Warm ups begin between 4:45-6:15 PM. Meet begins promptly at 6:30 PM. ALL SWIMMERS should attend warmups. These are the differences in times that are sent in emails and posted on Swimtopia.:
  • I will send a follow up email on Thursday evening with additional details.
  • Cowart YMCA, 3692 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta.

We value each family's contribution to our swim team community and thank you for your continued cooperation and support. Our goal is to make this experience fun, enriching, and rewarding for every swimmer!

Warm regards,

Caroline del Carmen
