Deadline approaching - Tomorrow at 12:00 PM
Good afternoon,
I hope this email finds you guys swimming in a fun pool or chilling in an air conditioned space or whatever you like on a hot, sunny day (finally)!
Swimtopia Instructions:
- I have received many messages about activating your Swimtopia account. I have sent EVERYONE instructions on activating your Swimtopia account. The email itself will come from 'Swimtopia' NOT from me. Sometimes it goes to your spam account, so please check and read carefully, the link to create the account is imbedded in the email. Please follow instructions.
- Once you have your Swimtopia account created, you will need to go into your account and 'declare' or 'undeclare' your athlete for each individual meet. You access this by going to the three marks in upper left hand corner of your Home page. GO to Meets & Events--->Signup Calendar-----> Click on 'Meet Entry' button in green------->your family members will be listed and you choose whether you want them in the meet or not (declare vs. undeclared). You can choose events you want your child to swim, but please note that coaches have final say on events swam.
Please DO NOT show up for a meet if you have not declared your athlete in each meet. I never want to turn anyone away, so please do not put us in that position.
Below I have included instructions on how to mark your swimmer. It is our expectation for EVERY meet, that you bring your own Sharpie marker and mark your swimmer so they will know what they are swimming. I am happy to answer questions, but please read and we look forward to learning all of this together!
How to Mark Up Your Swimmer
Swim Meet Prep
What is arm marking?
You must mark your swimmer to reflect which event, heat and lane they are racing. This is used to help remind the swimmer of their events and age group tent or ready bench volunteers. Use the Athlete sheet o find and highlight your child's events. Mark the arm as illustrated below in the picture in the order of Event/Heat/Lane.
Write on clean dry skin. It is best to do this BEFORE warm ups to minimize wet skin. Please also write your child's full name on their upper back.
Heat Sheets are also attached for you to know events order. There will be combining of events, so PAY ATTENTION to all announcements.
Example of Arm Marking
Write Clearly and Legibly on your child's LEFT arm as illustrated in the picture.
Stroke: If you'd like to note the stroke do so after the lane designation.
- FR = Freestyle
- BA = Back Stroke
- BR = Breast Stroke
- FLY = Butterfly
- IM = Individual Medley
For relay marking, just give event # and lane # and coaches will give them their order.
Best Regards,
Caroline del Carmen
