Welcome Back and Looking forward to a strong finish of this season!
Good morning all,
Happy New Year, Swim Families! I hope this message finds you well and settling back into your routines after a restful break.
Regular swim practices resumed Monday, January 5, and we are excited to get back into the rhythm of the season. Our coaching search is actively underway. Finding the right coach—someone deeply committed to the sport of swimming and to the full season-long development of our athletes—is a thoughtful process, and we are encouraged by several strong candidates. I will continue to keep you updated as we move forward.
We also have some important dates ahead:
- Saturday, January 17 – Home Meet (this meet will require strong family support and volunteers) - the meet is open and volunteer positions MUST be taken. All entries are due by Tuesday, Jan 13 at 12:00 pm.
- Monday, January 19 - NO PRACTICE in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. birthday. The YMCA is closed as well.
- Saturday, February 7 – Away Meet at the Tull-Gwinnett YMCA - this meet is open for entries.
- Saturday, March 1 – Championship Meet at Georgia Tech
Please remember ALL swimmers must compete in at least 2 meets to be eligible for the Championship meet at Georgia Tech.
Coach Shradha is working closely with me and Coach Keisha to ensure each swimmer is supported and challenged as we head into the remainder of the season. She has been a dedicated assistant coach for the past two years and has stepped up with professionalism, care, and commitment to our swimmers. Her commitment has never waivered. Her focus is on finishing this season strong, and we appreciate the continued support and respect from our families and athletes as we move forward together.
Thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and trust. We are looking forward to a strong and positive start to the new year.
Go Flyers,
Caroline del Carmen
